Photo title: Re-enacting a Viking Battle, Newfoundland and Labrador

    Image #: P-4015

Photo from: Viking Trail Tourism Association

    Photographer's Description
As part of the festivities to mark the 1000th anniversary of Leif Ericson's arrival at L'Anse aux Meadows in the year 2000, groups of Viking re-enactors from Europe and North America were invited to Norstead, a replica port of trade located near L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. One of those groups, Jomsvikings, from Great Britain, provided demonstrations of Viking duels.
